The Wearable Banana

http://www.cnet.com/news/forget-the-apple-watch-dole-made-a-wearable-banana/

Okay, I'm not sure what needs to be said other than IT'S A WEARABLE BANANA PEOPLE! All of our dreams have come true. ALL. OF. THEM. Why would I buy an apple watch when I could have a yellow hunk of deliciousness on my wrist? Seriously, whoever came up with brilliant idea that people should be able to look at their tweets in a banana deserves a medal.

Okay, in actual seriousness, I feel as if this is a cool publicity stunt that adds to the incoming wave of wearable technology hitting the market. I am skeptical that many people will be willing to shell out $250 for a smart watch; but, then again, I did not initially think people would buy over-sized iPhones that can't call anyone, and that made millions, so...If it's coming from Apple, it's most likely going to be a hit. But where does it stop? How many pieces of technology do we need to have with us in order to feel fully connected with the world? With glasses coming out that can connect to the internet, it seems that society will stop at no end to connect everything to the internet. I feel as if this is generally a good thing because it is supposed to make our lives more convenient. However, it can easily get to the point where we worship technology instead of marveling at the wonders of God's creation. When it gets to the point where we need to use our Google Glasses to look at the Grand Canyon (and I bet it will), I think that's a bit too far. As much as I love technology, I do not need to feel connected 24/7 to the internet in order to be happy. Too many people are already addicted to their phones and computers; adding smart watches and smart glasses will just further our obsession with looking at screens.

A Short Intro

Hey guys!
I'm Tyler Hagen, a freshman at Taylor University. Where is that you might ask? IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!! It's actually in Upland, Indiana, which is like an hour away from Fort Wayne and Indianapolis....and 30 minutes away from a Wal-Mart *sigh* Anyhoo, a bit about myself, I grew up in Buffalo Grove, Illinois (Northwest burbs of Chicago). I have two younger siblings, brother (16) and sister (12). I love sports (pretty much any kind). I'm planning on being a finance major (so cool, I know). I love food....a lot. I'm a black belt in karate (HIYA!), and I enjoy watching most kinds of movies. My hope is that I honor God with every post I make and that ultimately I can grow from this experience. This blog is for my class so you can expect more posts related to my class in the future.

Enjoy my posts :D
